“Heidi” (2015)
This latest adaptation by Zürich-born Alain Gsporner stays very true to the classic story by Johanna Spyri of a young girl who lives in the Swiss Alps with her goat herding grandfather. With over 50 million copies in print, this is the biggest Swiss bestseller of all times. The film shines by bringing the spectacular Swiss scenery to the screen and by showcasing great acting – introducing the wonderful Anuk Steffen in her very first role as Heidi and bringing back Bruno Ganz (Wings of Desire, Downfall) in the role of Heidi’s grandfather.
